"Finally we were empty nesters. The kids had moved out, Wayne had retired, and we had gotten a new bike we wanted to break in. It was like getting a second honeymoon. Now the picnic, the day trips, the antiquing, everything we had always wanted to do we were actually going to be able to do. We felt like we had won the lottery in life.
"But then I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. First came the shock. Then the devastation hit. I didn’t know what to think except that all our plans for the future were ruined. But then Tony Moye, our Health Mart pharmacist, calmed me down and explained that with careful monitoring of my health and diet being a diabetic doesn't mean you can't live life. Tony was more than our pharmacist, and more than a friend. He was my hero. Because of him, Wayne and I both know we have a great future lying ahead of us."
